Microenterprise Coach

  • Got a passion for developing new, small businesses?
  • Don’t miss your chance to establish this brand new microenterprise initiative for the community of North Adelaide!
  • 18 month opportunity based in Salisbury

Join a high performing team with heart!

Good Shepherd Microfinance is a world leader in financial inclusion products, services and advisory. We offer fair and affordable financial programs to people on low incomes and advisory services for governments, businesses and other organisations. As a part of this exciting work, we are building a Microenterprise program from the ground up, in collaboration with the South Australian Department for Communities & Social Inclusion.

What will be your key focus?

You will manage and coordinate this new program from our Good Money store in Salisbury. You will focus on building relationships with participants, suppliers, mentors and other stakeholders to design and manage the key components of the pilot. Importantly, you will also provide direct 1:1 support to participants to plan for and realise their microenterprise ambitions.

What will you need to succeed?

  1. Have you run a small business? We’re keen to see applicants from people who have started and run their own small businesses. Or maybe you’ve studied business and worked in a small or family business. We’d love to learn from your experience!
  2. Do you live in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide? We need a person that understands the local context and business landscape of the Northern suburbs of Adelaide. Maybe you live there or know the area well. Send us your application!
  3. Do you have a business plan you can share with us? One of the key responsibilities is to support participants with their business plans. If you can show us one that you’ve worked on – that would be great!
  4. Are you interested in social justice and financial inclusion? We’re keen to recruit people who are passionate about our work. Experience working with people on low incomes, and/or people who are experiencing exclusion from mainstream financial services is preferred but not essential. The capacity and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd Microfinance is also very important.
  5. Are you a great communicator? We need someone to help tell our story – a great communicator who is able to relate to a variety of people. Exceptional communication skills suitable to support people from a diverse range of backgrounds including Indigenous people, CALD people, and people who have a low level of formal education.
  6. Do you like numbers? We’re all about building financial resilience – so you must have a high level of financial literacy
