Good Shepherd Microfinance is a world leader in financial inclusion products, services and advisory. We offer fair and affordable financial programs to people on low incomes and advisory services for governments, businesses and other organisations.

As a part of this exciting work, the Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) program is an innovative national collaboration between the Department of Social Services (DSS) and Good Shepherd Microfinance (GSM). The aim of the program is to build equitable, inclusive and resilient Australian communities. Financial Inclusion Action Plans enable organisations to commit to practical measures to improve financial inclusion and financial resilience through their product/service offerings as well as their interactions with their clients, employees, suppliers, partners and the wider community. Excitingly, 12 FIAPs were launched in November 2016!

 

What will be your key focus?

Reporting to the General Manager – Advisory, and in close partnership with the Program Consultant, you will be responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of Financial Inclusion Action Plans with participant organisations (known as Trailblazers). Central to this will be conducting workshops with senior executives/managers, developing customised materials, and providing ongoing support during the development process. This role also requires proactively engaging and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders, and promoting an ethos of compassion, ethics and integrity throughout the value chain, consistent with Good Shepherd Microfinance’s values.

 

What will you need to succeed?

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably degree in Social Sciences or Business Management
  2. Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and the ability to build strong relationships
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to workshop with key stakeholders, prepare program reports etc.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  5. Demonstrated initiative, and ability to work in teams in a highly collaborative environment
  6. Knowledge of social policy in Australia, and of financial inclusion in particularly, will be highly regarded
  7. The capacity and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd Microfinance
