Good Shepherd Microfinance is a world leader in financial inclusion products, services and advisory. We offer fair and affordable financial programs to people on low incomes and advisory services for governments, businesses and other organisations. As part of this exciting work, our Program Design and Advisory Services team work across sectors to provide advice on building the financial resilience and economic wellbeing of individuals to businesses providing financial services to people on low incomes across Australia and internationally.


What will be your key focus?

For an 18 month period you will be responsible for coordinating a large financial capability research project in addition to providing research assistance on other projects as required. The role will involve input at the design stage along with data collection, data analysis and report-writing with guidance and oversight provided by the Manager Program Design and Advisory Services.


What will you need to succeed?

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in humanities, social sciences or related areas
  2. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the planning and implementation of research projects with excellent organisation skills
  3. Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; familiarity in data analysis through SPSS and/or NVivo will be highly regarded
  4. High level report writing and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
  5. Demonstrated understanding of financial capability, financial literacy and microfinance
  6. The capability and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd Microfinance
