A No Interest Loan got Carrissa’s kids off to school

Gold Coast mum Carrissa had no idea how she would scrape together hundreds of dollars to get her children kitted out for their return to school.

“Going back to school is a really tricky time financially, especially as it’s just after Christmas and school holidays,” Carrissa explained.

“As well as uniforms, shoes, books and stationery, we needed to pay for three iPads. Students are expected to have up-to-date technology to do their class work and it’s a big expense.”

With four young children, Carrissa doesn’t have money to burn.

“I am a single mum of four and one of my kids has a disability, so I don’t have the option of working just yet – our finances are short,” she said.

“You don’t want your kids to miss out, so I was looking at buying second-hand iPads.

“Luckily, I found out through school about the No Interest Loan Scheme. I borrowed $1200 to cover almost everything we needed.

“It was a smooth, easy process and it’s a huge relief not to pay interest.

“I’ll definitely look at getting a no interest loan before the school bell rings next year!”
