StepUP Christmas Giveaway winners announced

StepUP Christmas Giveaway winners announced

Thank you to everyone who took part in Good Shepherd Microfinance and NAB’s StepUP Christmas Giveaway. The response was fantastic – we received over 120 entries!

We asked StepUP applicants “what a new car would mean for you?”

There were many fantastic answers and lots of worthy StepUP clients. Last Friday (11 December 2015) a judging panel reviewed all the entries and selected a winner and two runners-up.

Winner

Peter Briggs, South Australia
StepUP provider: Uniting Communities

“My de facto has been diagnosed with Stage 4 progressive MS and having a new car would mean she would be able to continue driving more comfortably as currently we own an older model car that can be quite heavy to steer. It would mean she can keep her independence.”

Courtesy of NAB, Peter has won a 2015 Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport, three years of insurance and a $500 fuel voucher. He will also have his StepUP Loan paid off in full.

Runners-up

Christine Mottlee, Queensland
StepUP provider: St Vincent de Paul Queensland

“A new car would make the hour round trip to the rural school that provides excellent care for my autistic son and my daughter’s kindergarten as it would be more economical and comfortable. The money I would save would go to professionals for my son improving his outcomes.”

Donna Degan, Queensland
StepUP provider: St Vincent de Paul Queensland

“Everyone deserves something good in life and I would love the chance to have mine. I was in a car accident three months ago, have an 11 month old baby and live where there is no public transport. I need to reconnect with family and friends and start working again.”

Courtesy of NAB, Christine and Donna will have their StepUP Loan paid off in full.
